Communications Intern (Oct 2024 – Present)

At Africa Inventor Alliance, I work at the intersection of storytelling and strategy. As the Communications Intern and media liaison, my role is to make sure the stories of African inventors don’t just stay in labs or journals—but reach the public in a way that’s compelling, accurate, and true to their impact.

Media Liaison Work
I serve as the main point of contact for press and media inquiries, which means I help shape how the public sees us. Whether it's drafting press releases, arranging interviews, or following up with journalists, I ensure our voice is consistent and grounded in our mission. This role has allowed me to act as a bridge between the Alliance and the media—building relationships, managing requests, and positioning our work in the right places.

Visual Storytelling
I also design infographics and visual content to help break down big ideas and show what innovation looks like across the continent. These visuals live on our social media pages, decks, and campaigns—turning technical work into stories that people can understand and share.

Supporting Field Work
Outside the screen, I support on-the-ground initiatives too. From coordinating workshops to amplifying field campaigns, I collaborate with teams to strengthen our message across different channels. This cross-functional work has helped me apply my communication skills in ways that directly support inventors and grow the Alliance’s reach.

It’s not just communications work—it’s about giving a platform to the people building Africa’s future.
